Tracy Eboigbodin hails from Edo State and resides in Verona
28-year-old Nigerian Tracy Eboigbodin, has won the 11th series of the Italian MasterChef with a menu she called “L’abbraccio” (the embrace). The popular show is televised on the Italian network to millions of audience across the country.

At the final Tracy who came to Italy with her family as a child braved the odds in a stiff competition against two young male chefs, 18-year-old Carmine Gorrasi and fellow 20-year-old student Christian Passeri, to emerge victorious

“The embrace is the fundamental symbol of the union between two different elements, distant ones, sometimes remote,” explained Tracy on the reason behind the choice of her menu for the final.

Continuing she said, ”through the course of the MasterChef I have learned to open up to what is unknown and accept what surrounds me without fear or prejudice and make it part of my cuisine in a positive way. I wanted to translate how much this means to me in the four courses of this menu.”

With the victory Tracy who is a waitress and resides in Verona carts home €100,000 and the right to publish a book of recipes.
