The error of judgement by the revered retired justice in organising this party at this time, has now put the lives of so many who attended at risk.
The fear of the Coronavirus, also named by the Wolrd Health Organisation, WHO, as COVID-19, has become the beginning of wisdom. The spread of this virus has led to the cancellation of many top notch events, including this year’s summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. However, in the midst of this world turmoil, the respected Nigerian Jurist and Ambassador to the United Kingdom, George Adesola Oguntade, who just turned 80, decided to throw a birthday bash at the London Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, Mayfair, London. Trust Nigerian elites who are always looking for any excuse to jet of the country and party, they flew into London and stormed the Hilton in their numbers at a time every sane person is trying to avoid large gatherings.

The error of judgement by the revered retired judge in organising this party at this time, has now put the lives of so many who attended at risk. As at press time no fewer than two persons who attended the party have died while a third is lying critically ill in intensive care unit, ICU because they were infected with the Coronavirus. The death of one of the two deceased, a Mr Rotimi Adigun has been confirmed by the wife. According to the deceased spouse, her late husband started complaining of itchy throat the moment he returned home from the party.

There has been outrage on the social media on why a respected personality like the retired judge should organise such party in a-storm-engulfed-world. The elite who attended from Nigeria have been randomly criticised for not self-isolating knowing that they have been to the United Kingdom where the virus has also spread in Europe. Some bloggers have threatened to publish the names of those elite Nigerians who attended the party if they don’t go on self-quarantine. Of the more than two dozens of prominent people who attended the party, it is only foremost industrialist Chief Razak Okoya and former Ogun State Governor, Chief Segun Osoba, that have been reported to have quarantined themselves.
