Sound Sultan penned evergreen lyrics
There has been an outpouring of grief for Nigerian music star Sound Sultan. He died of a rare form of cancer called Angioimmunoblastic t-cell lymphoma, which affected his throat. He had been battling the ailment with chemotharaphy in far away USA.

Sound Sultan whose original name is Olanrewaju Fasasi burst into the Nigerian music scene in the early 2000 with his Jagbanjantis single. He would go on to pen evergreen lyrics which are still vibes in the industry today.

He collaborated with other standout musical icons such as 2Face, Wyclef Jean, Duncan Mighty and a host of others. The late musician was just 44.

His remains would be be laid to rest today July 11, 2021 at Marlboro Muslim Cemetery, 340 Spring Valley Road Morganville NJ, Brooklyn New York. The burial is to be streamed on Zoom and other social media platforms. Sound Sultan is survived by his wife Farida, three children, brothers and sisters.
