Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of the online Sahara Reporters, has regained his freedom from the custody of Nigeria’s Department of State Services, DSS. His release follows a directive by Justice Minister and Attorney General Abubakar Malami that the DSS released Sowore and the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki from its custody.

Sambo Dasuki has been in detention since 2015 on allegation of misappropriating over $2billion security funds during the tenure of Goodluck Jonathan. Sowore has been detention for calling for a revolution in the nation.
