The captain of the Nigeria national team the Super Eagles, Ahmed Musa, has announced on social media that he will fund the education of 100 students of the Skyline University, a private tertiary institution based in the city of Kano.
Musa who is a goodwill ambassador of the University, did not give details of the gesture. Noted the striker, whose footballing career included a stint at Kano Pillars, “I am pleased to let you know that I would be sponsoring 100 students at this university. Yes! 100. Details to follow shortly.”
Musa 27, currently plays club football in Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasser, and probably the most generous player in the national team of Nigeria. Last year he reportedly paid the debts of some 40 people. He has been making regular donations in cash and materials to people across Nigeria.
