Omobaba, with two decades in the industry under his belt, has been entertaining fans with his music skills on various social media platforms. He is engaging with them to ease the stress associated with COVID-19.
AfroLife gathered that Omobaba isn’t just a comedian but a musician, and wait for it – one that not only sings but plays multiple instruments. He plays the drums, piano, guitar among others. He’s a songwriter too.
He has collaborated with notable Nigeria’s music stars such as Terry G, G.T. the Guitarman, Sound Sultan, the late rap star DaGrin among others. He has released several singles, some of which at times poke fun at society. One of such songs which went viral upon release was: “There is God O” ft Patience Jonathan (wife of former President of Nigeria).
Omobaba is also an actor who has featured in several Nollywood movies. His skits making social commentary on contemporary issues have often gone viral. Omo Baba creative prowess transcends the creative arts to the fine.
His sculptured Eyo statue is the cover of a recent revised version of Dan Ekhator’s 1997 book “A Dance of the Gods.”
