Two Nigerian fraudsters operating out of Canneto Sull’Oglio and Torino have used the so called dark web to defraud two Italian companies of €46,000. The Postal Police in Mantova have formally lodged a complaint against the two with the Brescia District Prosecutor.
Using the dark web, the two hackers highjacked the emails of the companies met to be international correspondence, obtaining valuable data with which they were able to convince company executives to authorise payments.
The hacker operating out of Canneto sull’Oglio was able to divert to himself the sum of €16,000 while the one operating out of Torino defrauded the company in Viadana, Milan to the tune of €30,000.
