The convicted fraudsters are therefore to spend three years each in prison
For defrauding an American of $82,570, a court sitting in the Nigerian commercial city of Lagos, has sentenced Mrs Damilola Ahmed Adeyeri and her son, Alaba Kareem Adeyeri, to 12 years imprisonment each. The court heard that mother and son along with another fraudster now on the run, conspired to defraud the American who is the Chief Executive Officer of a US based manufacturing company.
The Judge on the case Chukwujekwu Aneke, wasted no time in sentencing the duo, noting that the 12 years jail term would run currently because mother and son pleaded guilty to the four charges preferred against them. The convicted fraudsters are therefore to spend three years each in prison. They are also to forfeit all properties and monies recovered from them to the Nigerian government. Their victims upon application will be granted restitution by the government from the forfeiture.
