Nigeria leading dairy company, FrieslandCampina WAMCO has entered   agreement with the International Fertilizer Development Centre, IFDC, aimed at local production of fresh milk in Nigeria.

Following the agreement, IFDC will use its agribusiness incubator programme (2Scale) to expand on FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s Dairy Development Programme (DPP).

“As industry leader, FrieslandCampina WAMCO has established best practice models for local milk sourcing to thrive. By signing this second phase agreement with IFDC for the 2Scale project, we are demonstrating the need for partnerships in contributing to food security,”  declared Ben Langat, FrieslandCampina Managing Director.

Under the Dairy Development Programme, FrieslandCampina last year announced a €23 million investment in an evaporated milk and ready-to-drink milk factory in Nigeria.

Mr Albin Hubscher, President and CEO of IFDC signed on behalf of his organisation. Also on hand to witness the signing were: The Netherlands Consulate-General in Lagos, Mr Michel Deelen and The Netherlands Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, H.E. Mrs Sigrid Kaag.
