A 20-point allegations of “impunity and bad governance” from unnamed employees sparked off the crisis for which the Trump administration called for more independent inquiry after it rejected the findings and consequent exoneration of Adesina by the AFDB’s Ethics Committee which was earlier mandated to investigate the allegations.
The panel of three experts, led by Robinson alongside Gambia’s Chief Justice Hassan Jallow and the World Bank’s former integrity Vice President Leonard McCarthy, cleared Adesina of all charges. “The Panel concurs with the Committee in its findings in respect of all the allegations against the President and finds that they were properly considered and dismissed by the Committee,” the report concluded.
It remains to be seen if this latest report by these experts would assuage Mr Donald Trump and his administration and let the AFDB be.
