In recent days there have been reports of some Africans thrown out of their homes, especially in the Guangdong Province where it was alleged the Coronavirus was spreading in the African communities. The social media is awash with images of hundreds of African living on the streets in the Guangdong Province.
The Guangdong provincial government while responding to concerns of discrimination in a statement, said that China and Africa are good friends, partners and brothers. The statement said the government attached “great importance to some African countries’ concerns and is working promptly to improve” its way of operating.”
The spread of the Coronavirus started in the Chinese Province of Wuhan. The virus has now claimed over 100,000 lives globally with about two million people infected with the virus.
