When he was campaigning to be president of Nigeria in 2015, President Mohammadu Buhari promised that he would trim down government by abolishing some ministerial posts.

That promise was never kept. In his second term he has instead created additional five ministries.

He also promised to trim down Nigeria missions around the world. That too has not happened. It is on record that Nigeria has two missions in a place like Italy. It is no longer news that some of the Embassies and High Commissions are unviable, some cannot pay utilities bills or staff salaries. Some of the missions are unkempt.
